Pachmarhi, often called “Satpura ki Rani” (Queen of Satpura), is a popular hill station and cantonment town in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in a valley of the Satpura Range and is the state’s only hill station.
Pachmarhi is known for its lush greenery, stunning landscapes, and pleasant climate.
It is part of the Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO-designated site, which includes the Satpura National Park, Bori Sanctuary, and Pachmarhi Sanctuary.
The area is home to diverse flora and fauna, including teak and sal forests, and animals like leopards, bison, and Indian giant squirrels.
Dhoopgarh, the highest peak in Madhya Pradesh and the entire Satpura Range, is located near Pachmarhi and offers breathtaking views, especially at sunrise and sunset.
The town is famous for its numerous waterfalls, including Bee Falls, Apsara Vihar (Fairy Pool), and Rajat Prapat (Silver Fall)
Pachmarhi has a mild climate and can be visited year-round. However, the best time to visit is from October to June when the weather is most pleasant.
The monsoon season (July to September) transforms the landscape into a vibrant green paradise, and the waterfalls are in full flow, but heavy rainfall might make some outdoor activities difficult.
